I am looking for recommendations for the 'best' waxing bench/ski form for travel use. I have used lots of poor ones (wobbly legs, form sliders that don't slide after a season, sharp edges, etc) and it time for a good one.

Please describe your 'best' in terms of:
    1) Intended Use (professional, large team, small team, car pool, individual).
    2) Virtues and vices compared to other products. Ease of setup, stability, durability, packed size, ....
    3) If you know, who sells this product and approximate price.

For a good sturdy single ski travel bench, I like my Harkin Ski Enterprises bench. It's all aluminum, folds easily to go in my ski bag, and is fairly light. I've modified it with a fabric wax-catcher tray, which allows me to wax anywhere without leaving a trace.

    Here's the contact info:

I'd suggest emailing some college coaches to see what they use. The wider Swix wax table with vises is common. Then there's the Skigo ones, http://skigo.ca/tools.php, though I don't know if they are sold in the U.S.. For wooden forms that can be used with a travelling wax table, see http://www.truenorthwoodworking.com/ or DIY: http://www.parryloeffler.com/waxbench.htm.

The best wax profil for travel use is a toko three piece Nordic Ski Vise. You can bolt that on any table and go at it, it works great and can easily pack it for the plane. This is what I use when I go to Canmore. For a larger group, the skigo profil is indeed quite nice BUT I must question the dual ski usage because the skis are so close together, you cannot use a rotobrush or can you have any tool sit on any space (or iron), the single profil is great for last minute sprint changes or outside wax over klister application. It beats any of these thin legged single profil swix offers.

Your ultimate set up is a good table, the toko table is better than the swix table (it sucks...wobly and expensive), an even better bet is a portable folding table such as this http://www.trojantools.com/product-display-order.php?id=29

Then just latch a good profil to it Swix world cup is a great form, but less for their other offer. Toko has a nice forms. Pick your profil and latch it on.

Over the weekend, I saw one team working with the double bench, one side using roto brushes, the other applying powder and ironing by hand.

The Harkin phone number mentioned above is out of service (past two days at least). And the street address is *N* 18th Ave (which is a house).

I like the Kroksta Flexi Ski Mate 104 made by Pelle G in ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK, Sweden. I brought two tables back from Sweden seven years ago and they still work great. It has an excellent design, and folds into a small easy to carry package. You can find it at: http://www.pgsport.se

In my opinion TOKO offers not only the best products available but also the best selection of products. Depending on your budget and what you are looking for you have a lot of options. If you are going to be traveling a lot and want to save some space the express workbench is awesome you can attach the table profile to it or the nordic vise. If you have a lot of room and are looking for a top of the line setup get the workbench and add the profile and vise setup that attaches to the extract poles and you have a world cup set up. Check them out at

Jason I have the Toko Express Bench. What setup do I need to buy to slide the pieces into the bench and also have the profile vise. Also I can't find any sources online who sell this besides xcskishop.com, which just has a profile bench. I don't want to use clamps to attach it to my bench but rather the inserts holes built into the bench.

Of course Jason's opinion wouldn't be the slightest bit biased right? :-)
Diehl I would go to your local shop. If they don't carry the profile they can easily order one for you.
