I'm wondering why Fasterskier didn't post any article of the City of Lakes Loppet this past weekend? As a ski news site I would think it would be worthy of at least some mention. The race had a huge field of racers that included a number of Olympians and elite ski racers. WTF Fasterskier?

Me too. After all they covered the other citizen race that was happening that weekend.

I think they are really close to overtaking the Birkie as the largest Nordic ski festival in the country. That alone is noteworthy.

Unfortunately we cannot cover every race in the US. The City of Lakes Loppet was definitely on our radar, but we have very limited manpower, and are often faced with choices. Much of our "citizen" level coverage is provided by volunteers, so we aren't always in a position to assign a specific event to someone.

Our goal is to grow the site to where we can support a staff to ensure we never miss an important event.

The City of Lakes is an awesome race and definitely worthy of coverage!

Understandable, I was trying to sound more smart ass in my post but I think I probably came across more like a jack ass.

It's cool! It is actually good to hear stuff like this - it lets us know what people want to read about, and we can then plan accordingly. It is also good for readers to hold us accountable, and if we aren't doing a good enough job, we should be told!

Just know, that we are trying :)

And its not like FS has to send somebody all the way to Minneapolis. Although full out on-site coverage and an in-depth Nat Herz story is the best, a short recap of the results (and maybe a quick phone call with the winners) is still cool.
