   Hi All,

   Where will I be able to purchase tickets for the WC Biathlon events in Lake Placid in Feb 2011? Will they be for sale on the Lake Placid ORDA site? Does anyone know when they will go on sale? Thanks in advance for the help.

   I doubt tickets will be needed. Last time there was a WC there tickets were not needed. The crowd size was much smaller than in Europe, so they were trying very hard to get spectators to show up.

   I attended the Lake Placid Sat and Sun events in 2004. They were great fun. But, this is not Oberhof. No one asked for a ticket. I didn't try to get on course, but had no trouble standing at the fence at the top of the range.

   You might consider volunteering. They had an army of local helpers (everything from parking to registration) and could always use help. Not everyone would recognize a Sleptsova or Svendsen.

   Yeah I have to agree with the other two, I raced the 09 Whistler WC and tickets were not necessary so I wouldn't worry about it.

   Thanks everyone for your advice. I guess it's all moot now that Lake Placid is no longer hosting the biathlon and it has moved to Presque Isle. Thanks again.
