I will be moving to Red Wing, MN in a month. Is that far enough south to be considered Southern MN?

No but I went to school in Northfield. (Is that too close to the twin cities to be southern?) The Carleton College arboretum is a great place to ski. Also check out Nerstrand Woods, a tiny little state park.
