In recognition of a category missing from FasterSkier's list of awards, I thought I would add one of my own.

XC Website of the Year winner, 2011: FasterSkier.com

If English is your only language, you could hardly vote for anything else, right? Actually, as this is a forum post, you could.

With the reporters travelling to major events, Nat appearing live on Eurosport interviewing Alex Harvey, and Inge Scheve translating content when she wasn't writing it (or making it at world masters), FasterSkier is a clear winner.

    Honourable mention: StatisticalSkier.com
Who doesn't love a good chart?

    ------
Or to put it another way, I would like to thank everyone at FasterSkier for keeping us in the loop during a great season to be a skier and a ski race fan.

I know this is a little late as the winner has already been announced, but my vote is for: Alaska Performance Backcounty Skiing (crust.outlookalaska.com). With all due respect to FS (a great website as you already know), if the category is XC Website and not XC Ski Racing Website this is my equally obvious winner. Although I haven't been to Alaska in years, performance backcountry skiing is where my skiing heart truly lies and where I can totally relate. Plus for me not only is a picture worth a thousand words but this year's story about "pacer" vs. "trotter" sled dogs really hits home because my personal ski technique has never been absolutely according to the rules, but I refused to quit skiing, or even racing, because of it.

My vote for honorable mention: skinnyski.com, another excellent xc ski website especially for us yoopers who have been adopted by Minnesota. (Thank's Bruce).

My vote for Miss Congeniality XC Website of the year is definitely FasterSkier.com.

...But my vote for XC Ski Racing Website of the year is FasterSkier.com. Thanks to all.

Thanks sailguy for pointing out Statisticalskier.com. I had not seen it before - pretty cool.

I have to second the love given to Bruce at skinnyski.com.

Fasterskier does many things that skinnyski does not do with its national and international coverage, but if you are from MN, WI or the UP, skinnyski does many things that fasterskier does not do either. Both websites compliment each other quite well, and are good at covering their respective markets. Skinnyski is the first website I check each day. Fasterskier is #2.
